Positive Points in the Chandramukhi 2

Kangana Ranaut, who has won a National Award for her performance, is excellent in the movie. She performed beautifully and is perfectly cast as Chandramukhi. She had excellent screen presence and looked stunning. Her dancing is beautiful.

The film’s polished treatment of Chandramukhi’s history is one of its positive aspects. The creators altered the original narrative when Kangana played the title part. The second part has some ok drama. Lawrence did a really good job portraying the Vettaiyan and he shown a lot of conviction.

The action sequence that comes over the end between Kangana and Lawrence is superbly composed. Both Lawrence and Kangana showed solid intensity in this action set piece. A couple of emotional scenes came out well. Lakshmi Menon got a surprising role and she aced it.

Negative Points in the Chandramukhi 2

The main issue with Chandramukhi 2 is that it doesn’t have many exciting scenes. Even without the jump scares, this film fails to create the eerie atmosphere that is a prerequisite for a horror film. These are the components of a horror movie that one would anticipate, but they are absent from this sequel.

Fans of this franchise will be dissatisfied because the emphasis was more on drama than thrills. The first half as a whole is disorganized and contains some random scenes. The comedy that made Chandramukhi unique turned out to be a major flaw in Chandramukhi 2.

The crowd is extremely irritated with the outmoded and over-the-top humour and Vadivelu’s hackneyed character. As if it weren’t bad enough, the picture also suffers from the weakly written love song. The original ‘Vaarai’ track should have been used instead of the new one because the latter lacks impact.

The screenplay framework is the same as the original, with a few tweaks to the backstory. While the first film is successful in building tension, this follow-up lacks any sense of urgency and runs on a flat note. The first half may have been cut in large chunks.

M.M. Keeravani attempted to elevate the movie with his background score, but the writing team is to blame for the lack of exciting parts. Rajasekhar’s cinematography is good. The set work is noteworthy. The VFX components are subpar. Additionally, the editing is subpar.

Regarding this movie, director P. Vasu just did an adequate job. He added drama to Chandramukhi’s history to make it more interesting. Despite having a fantastic actor like Kangana by his side, the impact was diminished by the storyline and the stupid comedic parts in the opening hour. It is also unexpected to observe how the scary component is minimized.

Overall, Chandramukhi 2 succeeds to some extent because the second half is superior to the first. Here, the original tale has been somewhat modified. Lawrence also makes an impression in the king role, but Kangana Ranaut steals the show with her performance. However, the movie lacks the exciting scenes that one would expect from a horror movie. The primary flaws are the stupid comedy and the first half. While it isn’t a poor movie, it also isn’t as memorable as the first one. As a result, it will turn out to be a passable viewing.
