Selection Process for SBI PO Recruitment 2023
There are three stages to the SBI PO Selection Process:
- Prelims
- Main
- Interview.
Since each round is equally significant, it is crucial to qualify in each round in order to move on to the next one and so on until the final selection.
Stage 1 SBI PO Prelims
- The SBI PO Prelims Exam is the initial phase in which applicants’ overall ability is tested.
- The SBI PO Prelims Exam is a one-hour online objective test.
- English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude make up the three components of the exam.
- There won’t be an SBI PO Prelims Exam sectional cut-off.
- However, the bank will make a general cut that is offset based on the candidates’ categories.
- From the top of the above merit list, candidates who are 10 times as many as there are openings (approximately) in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
Second 2: SBI PO Mains
- Candidates may sit for the SBI PO Mains Exam if they pass the SBI PO Preliminary.
- A descriptive test plus an objective test make up the SBI PO Mains Exam.
- The four objective components of the SBI PO Mains Exam are English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning & Computers, and General/Economic/Banking Awareness.
- The objective test is followed immediately by a 50-mark descriptive test.
- The total number of points received in the Main Examination will be used to determine the category-specific merit list.

Exam Pattern for Mains SBI PO
- Every question shall be Objective in nature.
- There will be four sections in this main paper, with a total of 200 marks.
- The SBI PO Mains Exam will last three hours.
- Every segment of the objective test will have its own timing.
- No sectional cut-off will exist. Only an overall cut-off will be made.
- Each incorrect multiple-choice question carries a 0.25 mark penalty.
- It is required to attempt the 50-mark Descriptive Paper.
The Descriptive Test lasts for 30 minutes and score a maximum of 50 marks. Through letter writing and essay writing, this test evaluates candidates’ writing abilities.
Candidates who pass the necessary cut-off in the SBI Prelims exam are qualified to take the Mains exam. The Mains Section has undergone revisions, including a heavier emphasis on general economic and banking awareness and a longer, three-hour test.

SBI PO 2023 Salary Structure
SBI PO offers an applicant an excellent income and profile in public sector banks.
